Back to Blu: Connected by the Sea

On the occasion of the 27th Fiumanka in Rijeka, an exhibition dedicated to the sea, sailing and life along the coast will be opened, where Italian artist Eugenio Giaccone and Rijeka artist Anđelka Maras from Rijeka's Atelje Maras will present their works.

The exhibition opening will be held on June 11th at 18 pm at the Juraj Klović Gallery in Rijeka at Verdijeva Street 19b, while the exhibition will be open to the public until June 14th.

Italian artist Eugenio Giaccone from Asti is known for his works inspired by sailing and regattas. Through strong colors, rich textures and dynamic brushstrokes, his works convey the energy of the sea, wind and sails, creating emotional and almost mythical scenes of the sailing world. After many years of work in textile design, the world of sailing has become the central inspiration for his artistic expression.

Alongside him, Anđelka Maras will also exhibit, an artist from Rijeka whose works are deeply connected to the sea, sails and the coastal lifestyle. Her art, recognizable by the intensity of tones and speed of execution, has attracted the attention of audiences and art critics for years, and her works find their way to audiences around the world.
The exhibition brings together two artistic sensibilities connected by the same passion for the sea and sails, and brings the audience a visual experience in the spirit of Fiumanka and Rijeka's maritime tradition.

In the same space, visitors will also be able to view the Back to Blu sustainable clothing collection, created out of a love for the sea and a desire to make a concrete contribution to reducing the waste that suffocates it.

The collection promotes natural materials, simplicity and a more responsible approach to fashion, and part of the proceeds from the sale of the collections is directed towards real projects related to the protection of the sea, the environment and the local community. From cooperation with ZMAG and reforestation in Rijeka to partnerships related to education and nature conservation, Back to Blu wants to create a concrete and long-term effect through its collections.

The exhibition is organized by Back to Blu and Fiumanka, and in addition to noteworthy works, the organizers are announcing an unusual opening with singing and dancing.
