Fiumanka sails part of the European Region of Sport program

Primorje-Gorski Kotar County proudly bears the title of European Region of Sport 2026, a prestigious recognition that confirms its long-standing commitment to sport, recreation, and a healthy lifestyle.
Under the slogan Spice up your life with sports, we run programs throughout the year that encourage all generations to move, socialize, and get involved in the community. Fiumanka and the European Region of Sport share the same values ​​– togetherness, openness, and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.
It is precisely for this reason that we are pleased to be a part of the event that has been gathering people for years through recreation, sailing and spending time outdoors.
To mark the title of European Region of Sport 2026, we have launched a series of free programs available to citizens across the County.
Through the Outdoor Sports program, we are bringing exercise back to squares, parks, and promenades, while Wild Leagues revive sports fields through recreational tournaments in football, basketball, volleyball, water polo, and bocce.
We involve the youngest through the Growing Through Movement program, and through Sports Presentations we present local sports and the possibilities of involving children and young people in them.
For our elderly citizens, we are implementing the Senior FIT PGŽ program, which encourages active and healthy aging.
Through promotional videos, sports ambassadors, and the show "Start Your Life with Sports" on Radio Rijeka and Kanal Ri, we bring sports stories, events, and an active lifestyle closer to citizens.
We also support numerous sports and recreational events throughout Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, further connecting the sports community.
